Prof. Baguneid’s novel research into tissue engineering of blood vessels between Manchester Royal Infirmary and Royal Free Hospital, London, earned him a Doctorate of Medicine (MD) from the University of Manchester. I am a European Board-certified Vascular Surgeon with over 12 years of experience practicing in Europe before relocating to the Middle East over eight years ago. Dr. Joonho Chung is an Associate Professor of Cerebrovascular & Endovascular Surgery at Yonsei University College of Medicine, currently working at the Stroke Center, Department of Neurosurgery, Gangnam Severance Hospital in Seoul, South Korea. He specializes in neuroendovascular treatments for intracranial aneurysms, carotid artery stenosis, and other cerebrovascular conditions. Dr. Chung has been actively involved in academic research and has published numerous articles on advanced endovascular techniques. He has also contributed to various national and international symposia and continues to be a leader in the field of neurovascular surgery. Dr. Jawas obtained his medical school degree from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. After completing a Master’s Degree in Medical Science from The University College of Dublin and becoming a Fellow of the Royal college of Surgeons of Ireland (FRCSI), Dr. Jawas then pursued his surgical residency training at the University of Toronto where he completed his Canadian Board in General Surgery. Dr. Fady F Haddad, MD, FACS, is specialized in Vascular and Endovascular Surgery. Dr. Haddad is a Professor of Surgery at the American University of Beirut, specialized in Vascular and Endovascular Surgery. Currently, Head Division of Vascular Surgery; coordinator of the Endovascular Program and Director of the Non-Invasive Vascular Laboratory. Dr. Jason Chin, MD, is a Staff Physician within the Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. Prior to joining Celveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Chin was a Vascular Surgeon with MedStar Health in Baltimore, Maryland, US. During his time there Dr. Chin treated the full spectrum of vascular disease including complex open and endovascular aortic aneurysm repair, carotid endarterectomy and stenting, open and endovascular limb salvage, redo bypass, graft infections, infected aneurysms, and dialysis access creation and maintenance. Dr. Chin started and led the Pulmonary Embolism Response Team for the region, introducing new techniques and systems for treating this severe disease process. Dr. Chin also developed an advanced IVC filter retrieval and endovenous iliocaval reconstruction practice. Dr. Chin also participated in lecturing and training general surgery and integrated vascular surgery residents. Dr. Chin received his medical degree from Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois, US. Dr. Chin completed his surgical training in the Integrated Vascular Surgery Residency at Yale New Haven Hospital, Connecticut, US. Dr. Shagran Binkhamis has obtained his Medical Degree from King Saud University in 2003. This was followed by Residency in Diagnostic Radiology at McGill University in Montreal, Canada from 2005-2010 and Fellowship training in Musculoskeletal, Adult and Pediatric Vascular & Interventional Radiology at the Universities of Ottawa and Toronto, Canada from 2010-2012. Dr. Binkhamis has been a Consultant Radiologist since 2012. Since his return in late 2012, Dr. Binkhamis was appointed as the Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program Director at King Saud University Medical City in Riyadh as well as the division head of Vascular and Interventional Radiology. Dr. Binkhamis is currently a Consultant and the head of Interventional Radiology at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center in Riyadh as well as the former fellowship director. Dr . Binkhamis is proactive in several research projects mainly related to Peripheral Vascular Disease in Saudi Arabia and has several peer-reviewed publications as well as regional and international presentations related to Musculoskeletal and Interventional Radiology. Dr. Binkhamis’ main academic interests are Arterial and Venous Disease, Interventional Oncology and innovative techniques such as advanced Endovascular Aortic Repair and lymphatic Interventions.

Dr. Walid Massoud is a distinguished Vascular and Kidney Transplant Surgeon with an extensive academic and professional background. A graduate of Minsk State Medical Institute CIS, USSR, he holds FRCS from the Royal College of Surgeons and Ph. of Glasgow, and Jordanian Board certifications in both General and Vascular Surgery. Dr. Massoud has served in prominent roles such as Assistant Professor in Vascular Surgery at the University of Jordan and Consultant Vascular & Kidney Transplant Surgeon in his private clinic since 2002. Dr. Massoud's leadership includes presiding over the Jordan Vascular Society (2015-2018) and heading the Examiner Committee of Vascular Surgery Board in both Jordan and Palestinian Medical Councils. Dr. Ravul Jindal is presently working as a Director Vascular and Endovascular Surgery, Fortis Hospital, Mohali. Dr. Jindal has been working in the field of surgery for the last 27 years and has been with Fortis since 16 years. With over 15 years of consultant-level experience treating vascular disease, Prof. Mohamed Baguneid specializes in aortic, carotid, and peripheral artery disease. Prof. Baguneid graduated from the University of Manchester and achieved his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons. Prof. Baguneid’s novel research into tissue engineering of blood vessels between Manchester Royal Infirmary and Royal Free Hospital, London, earned him a Doctorate of Medicine (MD) from the University of Manchester. Prof. Baguneid also received a Master’s Degree with merit in Business Administration from the Alliance Manchester Business School. Since moving to the UAE, Prof. Baguneid has helped shape diabetic foot services and advanced vascular surgery in the region. Prof. Baguneid has published and presented widely on many aspects of vascular surgery including oncovascular surgery. Prof. Baguneid provides support to regional surgical oncology teams and has taught many consultants to perform a wide range of complex vascular treatments. In addition, Prof. Baguneid trains surgeons in the art of managing vascular trauma in international workshops and conferences. Graduated in medicine since 2014 with residency in the areas of general, vascular and endovascular surgery. Enlisted in the Brazilian Army - Lieutenant, as a Combat Medic/ Health Care Specialist (2018). Today I dedicate myself to working in venous and lymphatic diseases. Using minimally invasive techniques ( transdermic laser, endolaser, sclerotherapy and foam), an approach with attention to aesthetic results and also in the care of chronic patients in the care of ulcers with complex dressings and compression therapy. Experience in ultrasound examinations in venous disease and lipedema. Carrying out research and service to the public health system in Mato Grosso with approximately 300 patients seen per month.

Dr. Jawas obtained his medical school degree from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. After completing a Master’s Degree in Medical Science from The University College of Dublin and becoming a Fellow of the Royal college of Surgeons of Ireland (FRCSI), Dr. Jawas then pursued his surgical residency training at the University of Toronto where he completed his Canadian Board in General Surgery. Dr. Jawas then joined subspecialty fellowship training in vascular surgery at the University of Toronto and obtained the Canadian Board in Vascular Surgery from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Dr. Jawas is also working as Consultant Vascular surgeon and an assistant professor of surgery at the college of medicine and health sciences at the UAE University.

Dr. Shagran Binkhamis has obtained his Medical Degree from King Saud University in 2003. This was followed by Residency in Diagnostic Radiology at McGill University in Montreal, Canada from 2005-2010 and Fellowship training in Musculoskeletal, Adult and Pediatric Vascular & Interventional Radiology at the Universities of Ottawa and Toronto, Canada from 2010-2012. Dr. Binkhamis has been a Consultant Radiologist since 2012. Since his return in late 2012, Dr. Binkhamis was appointed as the Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program Director at King Saud University Medical City in Riyadh as well as the division head of Vascular and Interventional Radiology. Dr. Binkhamis is currently a Consultant and the head of Interventional Radiology at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center in Riyadh as well as the former fellowship director. Dr . Binkhamis is proactive in several research projects mainly related to Peripheral Vascular Disease in Saudi Arabia and has several peer-reviewed publications as well as regional and international presentations related to Musculoskeletal and Interventional Radiology. Dr. Nashwan Ahmed Alattab is a distinguished figure in the field of vascular surgery. Born on January 1, 1976, in Sanaa, Yemen, Dr. Alattab has built a career that spans several prestigious roles and institutions. Dr. Alattab is currently serving as a Senior Vascular Surgery Consultant at King Fahad Medical City in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Educationally , Dr. Alattab has a rich background with a Master's Degree in General Surgery obtained in 2003 and an M.B.B.S. Degree in Medicine and Surgery from the Faculty of Medicine/University of Baghdad, Iraq, which he received in 2000. Dr. Alattab furthered his professional qualifications with an Arabic Board in General Surgery in May 2008 and became a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland in November 2013. Dr. Houssam Younes, MD, is the Chairman of the Department of Vascular Surgery in the Heart & Vascular Institute at Cleveland Clinic in Abu Dhabi. Dr. Younes is also a Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University. Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Younes worked as a vascular surgeon and an assistant professor at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, USA. During his tenure, Dr. Younes treated a wide spectrum of complex vascular diseases, utilizing new minimally invasive endovascular surgery technologies including image-guided and catheter-based therapies, and traditional open surgery techniques. During the years Prof. Zeebregts is working at the University Medical Center Groningen in Groningen, The Netherlands, he was Vice Resident Program Director, (Co)Director Cardiovascular Imaging Group Groningen, and Head of the Division of Vascular Surgery (Department of Surgery). Prof. Zeebregts served as a Board member and Secretary of the Dutch Society for Vascular Surgery, and within European Society for Vascular and Endovascular Surgery (ESVS) and European Society for Cardiovascular and Endovascular Surgery (ESCVS) he held in several management and organizational positions. At the moment Prof. Zeebregts is the ESVS Councilor for the World Federation of Vascular Societies (WFVS) and Executive Committee Board member of the ESCVS. Dr. Fady F Haddad, MD, FACS, is specialized in Vascular and Endovascular Surgery. Dr. Haddad is a Professor of Surgery at the American University of Beirut, specialized in Vascular and Endovascular Surgery. Currently, Head Division of Vascular Surgery; coordinator of the Endovascular Program and Director of the Non-Invasive Vascular Laboratory. In addition, Dr. Haddad is the General Surgery Residency Program Director, and was instrumental in the ACGME-I reaccreditation of the program. Dr. Mohamed Omar Elfarooq is a consultant vascular and endovascular surgeon who specializes in advanced endovascular and open surgery for critical limb ischemia and diabetic atherosclerotic disease. Dr. Elfarooq also has extensive experience in complex endovascular surgery for aortic aneurysms and lower extremity occlusive disease, as well as hybrid surgical techniques for PVD, varicose veins, and dialysis access. Dr. Elfarooq earned his undergraduate degree at Ain Shams University 1983. Dr. Elfarooq completed his postgraduate vascular surgery training at west midland vascular rotation in UK and obtained fellowship of the Royal college of Surgeons of England 1994 and Royal college of Edinburgh same year. Prof. Clark Zeebregts is a vascular surgeon and professor of vascular surgery since 2010. During the years Prof. Zeebregts is working at the University Medical Center Groningen in Groningen, The Netherlands, he was Vice Resident Program Director, (Co)Director Cardiovascular Imaging Group Groningen, and Head of the Division of Vascular Surgery (Department of Surgery). Prof. Zeebregts served as a Board member and Secretary of the Dutch Society for Vascular Surgery, and within European Society for Vascular and Endovascular Surgery (ESVS) and European Society for Cardiovascular and Endovascular Surgery (ESCVS) he held in several management and organizational positions. At the moment Prof. Zeebregts is the ESVS Councilor for the World Federation of Vascular Societies (WFVS) and Executive Committee Board member of the ESCVS. Dr. Khaled Abdel Aal is a French vascular and endovascular surgeon with 30 years of experience. Dr. Abdel Aal undertook his initial medical studies in Egypt before emigrating to France where he received his postgraduate training in Tours University Hospital. Dr. Abdel Aal has obtained several diplomas during his career, including Microsurgery, Open Complicated Techniques and Recent Endovascular Techniques. Dr. Abdel Aal has more than 20 years of experience in endovascular procedures and has practiced with the most famous French and European vascular surgeons in Paris. Dr. Abdel Aal has published more than 25 pieces of research published, and given more than 40 scientific international lectures. Dr. Michael Lichtenberg, MD, FESC is the Chief Medical Officer and Director of the Angiology Department and Vascular Center at the Arnsberg Clinic in Arnsberg, Germany. Dr. Lichtenberg earned his medical degree from the Heinrich-Heine Medical University of Dusseldorf, and also studied at the Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana and the Texas Heart Institute in Houston, Texas. As esteemed Interventional Angiologist with 20 years of experience in endovascular interventions, Dr. Lichtenberg was elected to serve as Managing Director of the German Society for Angiology in 2017. For the period 2020-2022 Dr. Lichtenberg was the society’s President. Dr . Lichtenberg’s areas of clinical interest include deep venous intervention, peripheral artery disease, peripheral thrombosis and atherosclerosis. In addition to his day-to-day work in interventional care, Dr. Lichtenberg’s main interest is the evaluation of new devices, techniques and procedures for intervention of peripheral artery disease. Dr Tamer Sayed Graduated class 2001 and had residency in General and vascular surgery in Cairo University teaching hospitals. Upon relocating to the UK, Dr. Sayed underwent rotations in Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at tertiary vascular units in London and the Southeast Region. During this period, Dr. Sayed completed two fellowships in both Vascular Access and Endovascular Aortic procedures. In 2017, Dr. Sayed obtained the fellowship of the European Board of Vascular Surgery and currently serve as an examiner for the Board. Dr. Viswanathan was the secretary of RSSDI Tamil Nadu Chapter from 2013 until August, 2017. Dr. Viswanathan has been the National Executive Committee Member of RSSDI since 2016. Prof. Edward Jude was appointed Consultant in Diabetes & Endocrinology at Tameside Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in 2001. Prof. Jude is lead for Diabetes and Endocrinology as well the diabetic foot service for Tameside and Glossop. Prof. Jude is also lead for delivering training for the Core Medical trainees in diabetes and endocrinology in the North West, and chairs the North West Diabetes Group. Prof. Jude initiated and established a multidisciplinary Diabetic Foot Clinic and a community based Diabetic Foot Protection team to ensure excellent care for patients with diabetic foot problems. Keen to see an improvement in the in-patient diabetes services Prof. Jude has initiated a ‘checklist’ for diabetes within the trust as well as promotes ‘Putting Feet First’ for diabetic patients admitted to hospital.

Dr. Abdulrahman Maher is a vascular and Endovascular surgeon practicing out of Perth, WA. Dr. Maher is a clinical lecturer at the school of medicine, University of Western Australia. Dr. Maher is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the greater Perth area, including Hollywood Private and St John of God hospitals. Dr. Maher received his medical degree in Egypt and did his research at Massachusetts General Hospital before commencing his vascular surgery training in Auckland and Sydney. Dr. Maher is an active fellow of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons.

Dr. Ibrahim Riza is a highly-experienced consultant vascular and endovascular surgeon who completed his surgical and vascular surgical training in the UK, at centers of excellence such as the Royal Liverpool University and the South Manchester University hospitals. Prior to joining Mediclinic, Dr. Riza worked in UK’s NHS, where he was the clinical director of Vascular Services at the Pennine Acute Hospitals in Greater Manchester, in the tertiary vascular unit, where Dr. Riza led the development and merger of vascular services in Greater Manchester, including the commissioning of a state-of-the-art Hybrid OR. Dr. Riza’s main interest is in endovascular aortic and carotid interventions. Dr. Riza has excellent world-leading results in endovascular aortic aneurysm repair as published in the UK National Vascular Registry. Dr. Riza also carries out endo-venous (laser) and surgical treatment of varicose veins, AV fistulae for dialysis access, lower limb bypass and angioplasties for lower limb ischemia and claudication, Botox therapy for excessive axillary sweating, and treatment of deep venous obstruction (DVT), chronic venous insufficiency, lymphedema and leg swelling, diabetic foot and its complications, thoracic outlet obstruction syndrome, chronic non-healing leg ulcers, carotid aneurysms and visceral aneurysms, and AV malformations. Dr. Ahmad Ameer, a Consultant in Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at Kuwait Hospital, is dual board-certified in General and Vascular Surgery from McGill and Ottawa Universities. Dr. Ameer introduced hybrid interventions and complex aortic endovascular repairs in Kuwait, including the first aortic arch branched repair in the Middle East. Trained by Dr. Marco Manzi and Dr. Mariano Palena in Italy, Dr. Ameer specializes in complex peripheral and pedal interventions. Dr. Ameer also heads the Vascular Surgery Unit at Jaber Al Ahmad Hospital and the Vascular Surgery department at Kuwait Hospital.

Dr. Mohanad Diab has been a consultant since 2008, having graduated from and worked in Sweden, Norway and Denmark. Dr. Diab then moved to the UAE, where he established Oncology services at NMC in 2012 and was the head of the department then the Chair of Oncology in NMC Group. In 2022 Dr. Diab moved to Burjeel Hospital and is now is the Director of Oncology services at Mediclinic in Abu Dhabi. Dr. Diab has participated in a number of scientific studies internationally, regionally and at national level and has written many scientific papers which were published in well-respected scientific medical magazines.

Dr. Hani Sabbour, MD, is a Staff Physician in the Heart and Vascular Institute at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Sabbour graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Basic Medical Sciences and another in Medicine and Surgery from Kuwait University Faculty of Medicine in 1994 with first class honors. Dr. Sabbour was also twice-awarded His Highness the Emirs Gold Medal for academic excellence in both degrees. Dr. Sabbour subsequently went on to train in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease at SUNY Stony Brook in New York and was elected both Resident and Fellow of the Year several times. Dr. Sabbour then completed his training in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School and was appointed Clinical Instructor in Cardiology at Harvard Medical School in 2001, as well as at SUNY Stony Brook. Dr. Ballal has special interest in complex foot and ankle trauma, orthoplastics and sports injuries. Dr. Ballal is a member of the British Orthopaedic foot and ankle society. Dr. Ballal has 2 book chapters and over 20 published peer reviewed papers.

Dr. Mohamed Raafat is a Consultant Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon with more than 16 years of experience. Dr. Raafat completed his medical degree and MD in Ain Shams University, Egypt, and obtained two fellowships of Peripheral Endovascular Intervention and Brunkwal Cologne Aortic Grafting, Germany. Additionally, Dr. Raafat Okelah is the co-founder of the Emirates Vascular Surgery Society and was elected general secretary of the Emirates Vascular Surgery Society.

With over 15 years of consultant-level experience treating vascular disease, Prof. Mohamed Baguneid specializes in aortic, carotid, and peripheral artery disease. Prof. Baguneid graduated from the University of Manchester and achieved his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons. Prof. Baguneid’s novel research into tissue engineering of blood vessels between Manchester Royal Infirmary and Royal Free Hospital, London, earned him a Doctorate of Medicine (MD) from the University of Manchester. Prof. Baguneid also received a Master’s Degree with merit in Business Administration from the Alliance Manchester Business School. Since moving to the UAE, Prof. Baguneid has helped shape diabetic foot services and advanced vascular surgery in the region. Dr. Ayman Quateen developed his expertise in interventional Neuroradiology throughout his career, which spans more than 10 years. Dr. Quateen has taken a special interest in diagnostic and interventional neuroradiology. Dr. Quateen is well-trained in the subspecialties of interventional neuroradiology and interventional vascular radiology. Dr. Quateen specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of neurological conditions and the use of clinical imaging to conduct vascular procedures. Dr. Quateen is also a keen educator and has published several research papers. Dr. Quateen received his MBBCh degree from Tripoli University. Dr. Quateen became a Canadian Board Certified Diagnostic radiologist. In addition, Dr. Quateen is also a fellow of the prestigious Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Dr. Chin started and led the Pulmonary Embolism Response Team for the region, introducing new techniques and systems for treating this severe disease process. Dr. Chin also developed an advanced IVC filter retrieval and endovenous iliocaval reconstruction practice. Dr. Chin also participated in lecturing and training general surgery and integrated vascular surgery residents. Dr. Chin received his medical degree from Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois, US. Dr. Chin completed his surgical training in the Integrated Vascular Surgery Residency at Yale New Haven Hospital, Connecticut, US. Initially a student of biomedical engineering, Dr. Chin has participated in and maintains an interest in surgical device development. Dr. Chin’s work on vascular access devices led to multiple patents, grant funding, and his co-founding of a medical device company to further advance these pursuits and bring them to market. Dr. Chin’s academic research into vascular surgery imaging and outcomes has resulted in the publication of multiple peer reviewed journal articles, book chapters, and US national presentations. In addition to his medical interests, Dr. Chin enjoys cooking, bicycling, swimming, and traveling with his wife and children

Dr. Batool Jamal AbuHalimeh, MD, is a staff physician of Vascular Medicine within the Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. Dr. AbuHalimeh received her medical degree from the University of Sharjah, UAE, and completed her Internal Medicine Residency at Cleveland Clinic Akron General, Ohio, US. Dr. AbuHalimeh then completed her Vascular Medicine Fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Ohio, US. Currently, Dr. AbuHalimeh resides in Abu Dhabi. When she’s not working at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. AbuHalimeh enjoys horseback riding.

Mr Mekki Medani was born in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.  He entered RCSI in 2001 and qualified with an honours degree in 2006.  To date he has had an illustrious undergraduate and postgraduate career and been awarded several medals including the RCSI McLean Gold Medal for Surgery, The Beaumont Hospital Desmond Lyons Memorial Medal for Proficiency in Surgery and the Beaumont Hospital Robert M'Donnell Surgical Medal. He entered Basic Surgical Training in 2007, completed an MD by thesis in 2011, and entered the higher Surgical training scheme in 2013.  During training he completed the MRCS in 2009 and FRCSI in 2018.

Mr Medani was attracted early on to the specialty of vascular surgery.  The required combination of medical knowledge and technical skills, the diversity and acuity of interventions, and the variety of specialities collaborated with, made vascular surgery an easy career choice.  During postgraduate and fellowship training he developed an interest in thoracic outlet syndrome.  Thoracic outlet syndrome is a notoriously challenging syndrome with debilitating effects on a mainly young and otherwise healthy population of patients.  Many Irish patients with this syndrome were previously referred abroad for definitive treatment.  Recognising this deficit in the Irish health care setting, Mr Medani completed an international fellowship at University of Toronto.  The focus of the fellowship was on this syndrome.  During the fellowship he trained under Professor Mohammed Al Omran, one of the leading international figures in the management of thoracic outlet syndrome. 

Prior to commencement of his fellowship, Mr Medani successfully competed for a consultant vascular surgical position in the University of Limerick Hospital Group in 2019.  Shortly after taking up the post he developed the first Irish service to focus on the management of thoracic outlet syndrome. He developed pathways for vascular laboratory-based and radiological assessment, intensive physiotherapy, pre-operative assessment, and post-operative care. The surgical management of thoracic outlet syndrome is an intricate surgery involving removal of the first rib and attached muscles.  Next, adhesions to the surrounding subclavian artery and vein, and brachial plexus, are meticulously divided.   All the while, the phrenic nerve, long thoracic nerve, and pleura of the lungs are carefully protected.  The service developed by Mr Medani now provides a quaternary referral pathway for patients with thoracic outlet syndrome throughout Ireland.   

During his career to date Mr Medani has also pioneered the usage of intravascular ultrasound for peripheral arterial disease and novel atherectomy devices.  A graduate and Fellow of RSCI, Mr Medani is a true shining light in Irish surgery.  Within a short few years has already raised the bar in terms of new service development and delivery. 

Dr. Wissam Al-Jundi is a Consultant Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon and Honorary Senior Lecturer at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital and the University of East Anglia in the UK. Dr. Al-Jundi has a busy NHS practice with special interest in complex aortic aneurysms. Dr. Al-Jundi has performed more than 500 aortic aneurysm repairs including more than 100 fenestrated and branched complex endovascular procedures. Dr. Al-Jundi acted as site Principal Investigator for multiple trials, published more than 50 articles and recently co-authored two of the bestselling books in postgraduate basic surgical training. Dr. Al-Jundi’s other achievements include level 4 Clinical Excellence Award and working as a Deputy Medical Director in private sector, leading UK Veincentre with the management team to expand and become the largest provider of venous services in Europe.

Dr. Emad Eldin Ahmed Hussein is a distinguished Egyptian vascular surgeon with a career spanning several decades. He earned his MB.B.Ch. in 1976, followed by an M.S. in General Surgery in 1982 and an M.D. in General/Vascular Surgery in 1985, all from Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt. He is currently a Tenured Professor of Vascular Surgery at Ain Shams University, a position he has held since 1996. Dr. Hussein served as the Chairman of the Vascular Surgery Department from 2007 to 2014 and is the Founder and Program Director of the Vascular Surgery Department at Aswan University, Egypt, established in 2013.

In addition to his academic roles, Dr. Hussein is the Founder and current President of the African Federation of Angiology & Vascular Surgery (AFAVS). He is also the Coordinator and Founder of the Pulmonary Embolism Response Team (PERT) at Ain Shams University and a key figure in the management of diabetic foot care through the Euro Mediterranean Center of Excellence for Diabetic Foot Management.

Dr. Hussein's leadership extends beyond national borders, with roles as a founding member of the National Committee for VTE Prophylaxis Protocol in Hospitalized Patients in Egypt and as an accredited trainer for VTE Prophylaxis by the General Authority for Hospital Accreditation (GAHAR) and the Egyptian Ministry of Health. He has received several awards, including a Gold Medal from Ain Shams University for his outstanding academic career in vascular and endovascular surgery.
